SDUT and City University of Macau Co-hosted Academic Seminar

On May 25th, SDUTand City University of Macau (City U)co-hosted an academic seminar, the theme of which is “Strengthening the Awareness of the Chinese Nation as a Community and Building a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity from the Perspective of Cultural Exchange and Communication”, in the hope of deepening the study and implementation of XI Jinping Thought on Culture, inheriting and promoting excellent traditional Chinese culture in cultural exchange and dissemination, strengthening the awareness of the Chinese nation as a community, and build a community with a shared future for mankind.HU Xingyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of SDUT, and YE Guiping, vice president of City U, presented at the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. DENG Changliang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SDUT, presided over the opening ceremony.

 

HU Xingyu firstly welcomed all experts and scholars, congratulated the opening of the seminar, and expressed gratitude to the experts for their long-term care and support for the construction and development of SDUT. He briefly introduced the development of SDUT in recent years, emphasizing that this academic seminar was of great significance for deepening the study and implementation of XI Jinping Thought on Culture,and the research and interpretation of major theoretical and practical issues such as forging a sense of community for the Chinese nation, and building a community with a shared future for mankind. He hoped this seminar would gather penetrating insights, reach broad consensus, and achieve fruitful results. He also requested the school of Marxism to learn and seek advice from experts, therefore effectively improve the level of discipline construction, theoretical research, and talent cultivation.

 

YE Guiping stated that this seminar provided an important platform for Macao to actively integrate into the national development strategy, which helped to bring the advantages of Macao's internationalization platform to full play, to promote academic and cultural exchanges between Macao and mainland universities. It is of great significance for strengthening the awareness of the Chinese national community and building a community with a shared future for mankind. He briefly introduced the population, geography, historical and cultural aspects, and higher education in the Macao Special Administrative Region. He was full of expectations for experiencing the history and culture of Qi and Lu, and hoped to take this seminar as an opportunity to achieve deep cooperation and common development between universities in Macao and mainland China.

During the expert report, renowned experts and scholars from City University of Macau(City U), Confucius Institute of the University of Macau(UM), Macau University of Science and Technology(MUST), University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(UCASS), Cultural Research Center of UCASS, Tsinghua University, Lanzhou University, Beijing Normal University, Sichuan University, Shaanxi Normal University gave keynote speeches and conducted exchanges and discussions around the theme.

It is reported that this academic seminar is jointly organized by the Shandong Province Research Base for Strengthening the Awareness of the Chinese National Community, the School of Marxism of SDUT, the Confucius Institute of the UM, Institute for Research on Portuguese-speaking countries (IROPC) of City U, and the Macau Social and Economic Development Research Center. The seminar focuses on the evolution and growth of fine traditional Chinese, cultural exchange and dissemination and strengthen the awareness of the Chinese nation as a community, cultural exchange and dissemination and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind, and young students to strengthen the awareness of the Chinese nation as a community. It emphasizes theoretical exploration and practice, ideological tracing, and inheritance and innovation. More than 50 experts and scholars from more than 30 universities and research institutes, as well as leaders of relevant academic journals, attended the seminar.
